Eight teams are officially on their way to quarter finals at the 2024 Copa América Conmebol: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Panama, Uruguay, and Venezuela.
Argentina and Ecuador are set to play the first match at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday (July 4), followed by Venezuela and Canada at 9 p.m. ET on Friday (July 5), and on Saturday (July 6), Colombia and Panama will play at 6 p.m. ET, as well as Uruguay and Brazil at 9 p.m. ET.
The competition is stiff, as all teams have demonstrated their best skills on the field since Copa began on June 20. Perú, México, Chile, Jamaica, Bolivia, EEUU, Costa Rica, and Paraguay have been eliminated from the tournament.
Ahead of the 2024 champions being announced on July 14, Billboard has compiled a list of official and unofficial songs that some of the remaining national soccer teams are celebrating with.
Ryan Castro, for example, has contributed “El Ritmo Que Nos Une,” a catchy urban-cumbia fusion that honors Colombia’s vibrant team. Salsa singer Jonathan Moly, on the other hand, teamed up with local act Alex Otra Nota for “Sangre Vinotinto,” a tambores-based tune that perfectly describes how Venezuelans feel with their national team. And a jingle that captures Argentina’s passion for soccer has not only gone viral on social media but been named the team’s newest anthem. (See the full list below)
The Copa América can be watched in Spanish in the United States on Univision, TUDN and UniMás, as well as via streaming platforms FuboTV and TUDN.
