The complimentary citizenships, constituting less than 0.1% of the nation’s population, will grant recipients full voting rights. President Bukele has assured that the distribution of these passports will not pose any logistical challenges due to the limited volume. President Bukele has also pledged to waive taxes and tariffs to facilitate the relocation process to El Salvador. Moving one’s family and assets, including software, intellectual property, and equipment, will incur a 0% tax rate. Further specifics about the policy and its implementation are expected soon.
El Salvador, the smallest country in Central America with a population of less than 10 million, shares borders with Honduras to the northeast and Guatemala to the northwest.
