Pod Save America hosts Jon Favreau and Dan Pfeiffer Rlost it over a congressman’s proposal to rename Greenland “Red, White, and Blueland.”
Rep. Earl Carter (R-GA) introduced a bill this week intended to authorize President Donald Trump to take over Greenland and give it a patriotic rebrand. Trump has long talked about his desire for the United States to acquire Greenland.
“America is back and will soon be bigger than ever with the addition of Red, White, and Blueland. President Trump has correctly identified the purchase of what is now Greenland as a national security priority, and we will proudly welcome its people to join the freest nation to ever exist when our Negotiator-in-Chief inks this monumental deal,” the congressman wrote.
On Pod Save America, the hosts, once aides to former President Barack Obama, said the “stupidest fucking people” are currently in charge of the government.
“It’s the stupidest fucking people. Our country is being run by the stupidest fucking people,” Favreau said after playing a report on Carter’s proposition.
“I learned about this directly from you this morning at our production meeting, and I laughed so hard,” Pfeiffer responded.
He went on to call the bill “freedom fries type stuff” meant only to work up the MAGA base.
“It’s obviously freedom fries type stuff,” he said. “And if you ever just want to just have an interesting experience, find a much younger person and try to explain to them the time in American history 20 years ago when we renamed all of our French fries freedom fries because France would not follow us into a really stupid and losing war.”
“What’s he going to rename Europe?” Favreau asked. “Like, East America?”
