In a new exciting tournament for the fans, the inaugural season of the Global Super League is all set to kick off from November 26 and will be held until December 07. In the marquee event, five teams from five different countries will take on each other for a prize fund of $1 million.
It is worth noting that the GSL 2024 will be the very first standalone cricket event from South America. Furthermore, the tournament is also sanctioned by the Cricket West Indies (CWI).
Ahead of the inaugural season of the competition, Guyana Amazon Warriors, who are one of the competitors in the tournament, came forward and announced their 13-man squad.
The inaugural season of the GSL 2024 will feature a mini league of 11 matches, where each team will end up playing four matches, with the top two teams progressing through to the summit clash of the tournament. Every game of the competition will be played at the Guyana National Stadium in Providence, and different teams will be invited to compete in each season.
Guyana Amazon Warriors last competed in the CPL (Caribbean Premier League) 2024. The side failed to go all the way in the competition as they lost the summit clash of the CPL 2024, losing the final to St. Lucia Kings. Warriors were in excellent form throughout the season, winning seven out of the 10 matches they played. The side finished in first place in the standings and will hope that they can put in a good showing in the GSL 2024 as well.
Warriors will also hope that they can make the most out of the home advantage, and with stars like Imran Tahir, Moeen Ali, Shai Hope, and many more in their squad, the team could prove to be real contenders for the title.
