SANTO DOMINGO, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) — Over 10 prisoners were killed during an escape attempt in Haiti’s northern city of Saint-Marc on Friday, local media reported.
The incident occurred after inmates staged a protest demanding better food and medical care.
During the escape, some prisoners exchanged gunfire with the police, leading to the fatalities, said the reports. ■
