U.S. Southern Command Provides Kenyan Forces with Additional MRAP Vehicles for Haiti Mission

The U.S. Southern Command, the Department of Defense’s joint military command covering Latin America and the Caribbean, announced on Friday that it would deliver 24 additional mine-resistant ambush-protected (MRAP) MaxxPro vehicles to Kenyan personnel deployed in Haiti.

This initiative is aimed at supporting the 400 Kenyan police deployed as part of a United Nations-sanctioned security mission. The mission seeks to address the prevalent issue of heavily armed gangs that have taken control of most of the capital in Haiti.

The delivery of the MRAP vehicles underscores the international community’s commitment to restoring peace and stability in the region.
