Arajet, the low-priced Dominican airline launched operations from Punta Cana Airport (PUJ) expanding its network of destinations and connecting this important tourist centre with North America.
Arajet Takes Flight to New Destinations from Punta Cana
The Dominican Republic’s own Arajet is gearing up to launch flights to 14 vibrant destinations from its new base in Punta Cana, further opening the skies for travelers across the Americas. Our initial routes will connect Punta Cana to Kingston in Jamaica; Lima in Peru; Mexico City and Cancun in Mexico; Bogotá, Cartagena, and Medellín in Colombia; Quito and Guayaquil in Ecuador; Toronto and Montreal in Canada; São Paulo in Brazil; Buenos Aires in Argentina; and Santiago in Chile.
This expansion positions Punta Cana as Arajet’s second base of operations in the country, underscoring our dedication to making travel more accessible for everyone.
Víctor Pacheco, Arajet’s CEO and founder, expressed his excitement about strengthening ties between the region and the Dominican Republic’s eastern gem. “This expansion reinforces our commitment to democratizing air travel and connecting the continent—from Canada to Argentina—at the best prices with exceptional service,” Pacheco shared. He emphasized Arajet’s goal of boosting passenger mobility through Punta Cana Airport, solidifying the Dominican Republic’s role as the Caribbean’s new aviation hub.
Punta Cana’s Ongoing Growth
Known for its focus on innovation, Punta Cana Airport has become one of Latin America’s leading airports, welcoming millions of travelers each year. With connections to 75 cities in 34 countries via 58 airlines, the airport now manages the largest influx of tourist air traffic in the nation, handling over 9 million passengers annually.
“This partnership aligns with our mission to maintain our leadership in Dominican air traffic, welcoming 68% of the country’s tourists,” said Giovanni Rainieri, Airside Operations Director at Punta Cana Airport. “We thank Arajet for their confidence in our airport as part of their expansion in the Dominican Republic, working together to champion tourism in the region.”
