KINGSTON, Jamaica— English FA League One club Charlton Athletic FC are expected to officially announce the signing of Jamaican winger Kaheim Dixon on Friday, Observer Online has been reliably told.
It was heard that Dixon, who has been in London with the club, was granted a work permit and has completed his transfer from Jamaica Premier League club Arnett Gardens.
Dixon had a mercurial rise through the ISSA daCosta Cup schoolboy football competition where he led Clarendon College to the title. He also represented the senior ReggaeBoyz team in the FIFA World Cup qualifying and the Copa America tournament.
He was sought after by several clubs in several countries, his agent Kevin Cowan said last month.
Cowan, of International Dymension, had said Dixon had offers from “Major League Soccer, there was some interest from clubs in Europe, places like Cyprus, Portugal, Belgium, just to name a few destinations.”
