Chronixx collaboration with Free Nationals goes gold in America

Eternal Light, a collaboration that reggae artiste Chronixx recorded with American R&B group Free Nationals in 2019, was on Wednesday certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

The song achieved the equivalent of 500,000 units sold in the US through a combination of digital sales and streaming.

Eternal Light has given Chronixx his first certification in the United States. Two years ago, his collaboration Who Knows with Protoje was certified silver in the United Kingdom for sales exceeding 200,000 units.

The song is featured on Free Nationals’ self-titled debut 2019 album. The album earned a Grammy Award in the category Best Progressive R&B Album.

Born Jamar McNaughton, Chronixx is originally from Spanish Town. He attended St Catherine High School and got into music during his late teens.

To date, he has released one full length studio album, Chronology, which was nominated for a Best Reggae Album Grammy Award in 2017.

Chronology topped Billboard’s Reggae Album chart, similarly his EP Dread & Terrible, which was released three years earlier.

Chronixx is known for the hits Smile Jamaica, Odd Ras, Behind Curtain, I Can, Here Comes Trouble and Alpha and Omega.
