Keeping a close eye on a system developing in the Atlantic

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) – The National Hurricane Center is keeping an eye on a tropical wave in the Western Caribbean and one moving through the southern Atlantic.

The tropical wave in the Caribbean is heading for the Yucatan Peninsula. At the moment the hurricane center is only giving this wave a 30% chance of development over the next 7 days, as it moves towards the Bay of Campeche.

The other system the hurricane center is watching is a tropical wave in the Central Atlantic. This wave is looking better organized and the hurricane center has upped chance of formation in the next couple days up to 70% and they give it a 90% chance of development in the next 7 days.
