Just when it seemed that his signing was about to fall through, journalist César Luis Merlo confirmed that Rodrigo Aguirre has already signed his contract with América and is about to become their new reinforcement. The Charrúa striker was on his way to becoming a Santos player, and even came to be considered for Pachuca, but the Coapa team’s offer seemed more attractive to him.

July 6, 2024 6:40 PM ETIs Zendejas leaving? In the last few hours, rumors have surfaced that Cruz Azul has a significant interest in Alejandro Zendejas. Several media reports indicate that the coach of the club, Martin Anselmi, has called the player to convince him. Given the imminent departure of Rodrigo Huescas to Danish soccer and AEK’s interest in Uriel Antuna, the Mexican-American would be an option for the team from La Noria.

However, the midfielder has a valid contract and Cruz Azul will have to pay at least 8 million dollars for the player.

This is the Spanish coach, Domènec Torrent, who has extensive experience in international soccer in clubs such as New York City, Flamengo, Galatasaray, Girona, among others. He was also Pep Guardiola’s assistant at Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
The Potosinos have shown that they can have good tournaments and will seek to emulate what they did a year ago under Brazilian coach Gustavo Leal, where they were leaders of the championship for a few days.

July 6, 2024 5:30 PM ETThe first three-time champion? After joining the list of two-time champions in Mexican soccer’s short tournaments, América, faithful to its belief in winning, is thinking of nothing else for this season but becoming champion. The reinforcements are arriving little by little, and it seems that, despite some departures such as that of Julián Quiñones, the Águilas are getting even stronger, which keeps them as candidates once again for the title of this tournament and to make history as the first three-time champion club in short tournaments.
A little less than a week ago, the Azulcremas won the SuperCopa MX against Tigres in Carson, California.
