FIFA secures major sponsorship with Bank of America ahead of 2026 World Cup

FIFA has signed a landmark sponsorship agreement with Bank of America, marking the first global banking partnership for the organization.

This significant deal comes as FIFA prepares for the 2026 men’s World Cup, which will be hosted across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

This partnership is particularly noteworthy as it is the first of its kind since Sepp Blatter’s departure as FIFA president in 2015.

Blatter’s exit followed a U.S. Department of Justice investigation into widespread corruption within the governing body.

The announcement of this sponsorship follows closely on the heels of FIFA’s multi-million dollar partnership with Saudi Arabian oil giant Aramco. It also comes in anticipation of this summer’s Club World Cup.

Historically, U.S. companies have been cautious in aligning with FIFA following the 2015 scandal.

However, FIFA president Gianni Infantino welcomed the new partnership with Bank of America on Thursday.
