Mexico’s inbound tourism numbers continue to rise.
Mexico’s National Institute of Statistics and Geography reported a 6.24% rise in international visitors during the first six months of 2024.
Tourism spending was up 7.7% to $17.5 billion in the first six months of 2024, which represents a new record.
Mexico’s Tourism Ministry said 11.9 million travelers arrived by air, which is up nearly 5%.
The top source markets by air are the US and Canada.
The top airport gateways for overseas travelers continue to be Cancun, Mexico City and Los Cabos.
Mexico is targeting a total of 55.3 million international tourists for the full year 2024, and predicts up to $31.6 billion in tourism spending.
