After 65 years of Communist/Castro rule of 90-mile-away Cuba, electrical energy production by a power source owned and run by communist thugs through the Cuban communist party, there is no electricity for all intents and purposes.
There is no private electrical production. Most is produced by burning oil. It is imported from Russia because no oil is pumped from Cuban hillsides or offshore. As a rule, the oil from Russia is traded for sugar.
Mother Russia needs Cuba to exist if for no other reason than Cuba is a facsimile of a bothersome insect to the U.S.
Cuba also serves as a pulsating infected sore in and around the Caribbean, the Gulf of Mexico, and waters that splash on failed countries like Nicaragua and Venezuela. These are communist countries run by thugs who get psychological sexual pleasure by imprisoning Roman Catholic priests and nuns.
Mexico’s friendship with Cuba demeans modern Mexico.
A 70-year-long one-party dictatorship of a Soviet-style way of governing in Mexico ended with the smashing victory by the Right-of-Center Partido Accion Nacional (PAN) in the Presidential victory by Vicente Fox in a three-way contest in 2000.
That energy continued with PAN’s second victory in 2006 when Felipe Calderon beat Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO) beat Donald J. Trump to lying about winning when ballots weren’t even being counted.
AMLO continued to protest. He encouraged his mostly poor uneducated supporters to hit the streets in protest and to shut down business districts. Mexico lost billions of dollars worth of business and accompanying tax collection through the national sales tax (IVA). IVA amounts to 16% of every Mexican sales slip for goods, food, and/or services.
AMLO claimed he won and that he was the legitimate President of Mexico. He even appointed men and women to hundreds of ghost government jobs he claimed were the legitimate government of Mexico.
He ran again in 2012; he lost again. So he ran again in 2018. AMLO finally made it over the finish line. He won in 2018.
During his six years as president AMLO surrendered the country to the “Drug Cartels” by implementing a “hugs not bullets” order. More Mexicans were murdered under AMLO than in any non-war Mexican historical period in its 500 years of existence as a “nation.”
President AMLO made a hard left turn and bribed the Army and Navy Mexican forces into something most had thought could not happen again after former generals quit running for President and the lawyers took over as well as Harvard/Yale MBA’s and PhD’s.
Businessmen and lawyers ran a fairly decent Mexico compared to the generals/admirals. Then AMLO violated the Constitution by organizing a “National Guard” dressed them in cammies and handed them semi-automatic rifles. He placed the Guard under Army control. The Secretary of Defense (SEDENA) was thrilled; the Guard writes traffic tickets and shoots to kill migrants from Central America.
AMLO, however, showed that by bribing generals and admirals with civilian contracts to build an airport, a railroad no one wanted, and handing commercial port activities and customs collections to the Navy he had happy generals and admirals, rich ones, to support his government. He locked a government monopoly of 54% ownership by the government of electricity production and no more than 46% private production.
Now electricity can blackout in 70-80 percent of all of Mexico simultaneously in contrast to Baja California which is in the California grid.
He’s now gone, termed out. Thankfully, for the real AMLO is guilty of two acts of treason to the well-being of North America; number 1, he sent an airplane to Poland to evacuate Mexican nationals from the invaded Ukraine that Mexico-friendly Russia attacked. The plane could have been full of medical supplies but it wasn’t. AMLO supported Russia.
The second act of treason to the well-being of North America that AMLO set up is draining the Mexican Treasury with his deal with Communist Cuba in which he is importing hundreds, perhaps thousands of Cuban doctors to Mexico to displace real Mexicans with doctors who can’t be paid by a broke Cuba. Mexican doctors earn far more than Cuban doctors in Cuba.
Despite his departure, AMLO’s Cuban/Russian romance and government monopolies are embedded into Mexico’s political and economic policy for the simple reason that his replacement, Claudia Sheinbaum, is closely following AMLO’s pro-Russian, pro-Cuban and anti-American leftism that can destroy Mexico.
Thanks to Presidenta Sheinbaum’s continuation of the aforementioned AMLO biases towards Communist regimes by ultra-leftist AMLO, Mexico is being severely wounded economically.
Who will she follow, a forgotten AMLO, or her potential for carving a legacy that can move Mexico into the top ten respected economies in the world?
