Donald Trump has posted a dramatic new video claiming America is being “invaded by immigrants”.

In a fiery message on X, the Republican presidential candidate declared: “America is being invaded - end the occupation, liberate America.”

The incendiary remarks were accompanied by a video focused on the US border crisis. They come as the former president seeks to rally his base with voters heading to the polls in less than a month.

The clip - which is a montage of carefully chosen news reports - takes aim at his Democratic opponent Vice President Kamala Harris. It also criticises incumbent Joe Biden - who beat Trump in the 2020 election he falsely claimed was rigged.

The shocking footage shows large groups of people crossing the US-Mexico border and claims the influx is putting significant pressure on American cities. In one clip, armed Venezuelan gang members are seen “storming an apartment complex”.

Other scenes depict individuals carrying firearms, while the video alleges that people “convicted of murder” have been released into the country.

The issue of immigration has shaped a particularly bitter election campaign in which the Republican candidate has survived two assassination attempts.

Trump and Harris tore into each other's records as they clashed in a fiery TV debate in September.

At one point, the former New York businessman launched into a bizarre rant about illegal immigrants allegedly kidnapping and eating pet cats. The claim has been debunked by US police - but not before members of a community were left terrified by bomb threats.

Trump has pledged to deport millions of people living in the US illegally, warning Harris is "worse than Biden" and her policies would turn the US into Venezuela.

The new social media was posted on Friday, October 11, as he held a rally focused on immigration in Aurora, Colorado. Local officials in the state have already rejected his claim that the Denver suburb is a “war zone” run by Venezuelan gangs.
