AhlulBayt News Agency: The Hamas Movement has applauded the Nicaraguan government’s decision to sever diplomatic relations with the Israeli occupation regime in response to Israel’s brutal genocide in the Gaza Strip and its escalation of its aggression against Lebanon.
In a statement on Saturday, Hamas described Nicaragua’s decision in this regard as “courageous” and a “step towards isolating the fascist Zionist entity, criminalizing its practices and exposing its widespread violations of the international law and humanitarian norms, which happen with political and military support from Washington and some Western powers.”
“As we appreciate Republic of Nicaragua’s fulfillment of its moral and political obligations towards our Palestinian people and their just cause, we call upon other countries to state their positions clearly towards the unrestrained Zionist violence against our Palestinian people and the peoples of the region,” Hamas said.
The Movement called for necessarily cornering the Israeli regime, holding its war criminal leaders accountable and standing by the Palestinian people in their quest to end the occupation and establish their independent state.
Nicaragua announced its decision to end all forms of diplomatic relations with Israel, the Central American nation said on Friday, calling the Israeli government “fascist” and “genocidal.”
Nicaragua’s government, in a statement, said the break in relations was due to Israel’s brutal attacks on Gaza.
