The North American VASA board announced on the 7th they’d be bringing on a tandem of new race directors for next year’s race in February.
Cliff Onthank and Ken Dawson will be sharing the role to oversee the dozen races over the two-day period, races include skiing, fat-biking, and snowshoeing.
Cliff and Ken are no strangers to the sport themselves, having competed in over fifty VASA races between the two of them, and board president Bryan Beauchamp is excited for them to begin, saying “So they’re going to be the ones who are leading the charge, responsible for all the logistics, and they’re bringing on some new ideas where we’re going to recognize some of the history of the organization that’s coming up on our 48th annual event, and just make sure that, you know, we are meeting the expectations of the ski community and that we are a destination ski race for the Midwest and hopefully, even more, broadly across the nation”.
Registration for all races is currently expected to open after Labor Day.
