WASHINGTON (TNND) — Among the first of hundreds of executive orders, President-elect Donald Trump is expected to rename the Gulf of Mexico as the “Gulf of America,” according to ABC News.
During a news conference at Mar-A-Lago, Trump declared that he would change the name as a “beautiful” improvement to the body of water.
We’re going to be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America, which has a beautiful ring,” he said. “That covers a lot of territory—the Gulf of America, what a beautiful name.”
Trump has also called for U.S. expansion into Greenland and the Panama Canal.
Once inaugurated, Trump will sign a slew of executive orders on issues including immigration, the federal workforce, energy and the environment, the economy and trade, gender issues, diversity, and equity and inclusion programs.
Earlier Monday morning, Presiden Joe Biden preemptively pardoned Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley and members of the House committee that investigated the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol.
