Currently, Panama flag carrier Copa Airlines operates the link between PTY and SFO up to 11 times weekly, making it one of the airline’s longest 737 MAX routes from the Panamanian capital. Commencing on May 22, United will operate the route daily, year-round, marking the airline’s ninth Latin America destination and the only US carrier between San Francisco and Panama.
United Airlines continues to grow its international network. While 2025 will see exciting new destinations such as Nuuk, Bilbao, and Faro, the airline has also been rapidly expanding its Latin America network of destinations, specifically from San Francisco, including Monterrey, which started this October and will be joined by Belize City from December 21 and San Jose, Costa Rica, from May 22.
