Asunción, Agencia IP.- During a visit to Lot 2 of the third section of the Bioceanic Road Corridor, Elías Rubinstein, the country coordinator for the Development Bank (Fonplata), highlighted the project’s strategic importance for the region and its potential to develop more than half of Paraguay’s territory.
Rubinstein emphasized the crucial alignment of objectives between all stakeholders: the contractor, oversight, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), and the bank. «The project is well on track,» he affirmed, noting that «Lot 2 has already made significant progress in some sections and is developing smoothly.»
For the Fonplata representative, the Bioceanic Corridor transcends Paraguayan borders: «It is an emblematic integration project for Latin America, connecting two oceans and regions with varying levels of development,» he expressed.
Future outlook
At another point, he emphasized the project’s social impact, which will provide opportunities to populations currently facing difficulties in accessing essential services. «It has an enormous future projection, one that will be completely different from what we know today,» he assured.
He said the challenge goes beyond construction: «It involves thinking about how the territory will be managed to ensure harmonious development while preserving the Chaco ecosystem in the coming decades.»
