Paraguay captivates Taiwanese tourists and positions itself as an emerging destination in Asia

Asunción, Agencia IP.- Paraguay has become a focal point at the Taiwan International Tourism Fair, captivating Asian tour operators with its rich cultural, natural, and culinary diversity. Angie Duarte, the Minister of Tourism, leads a Paraguayan delegation aiming to position the country as an emerging destination in the Asian market.

Paraguay has generated substantial interest in its destinations through meetings with Taiwanese tour operators. Operators showed particular interest in combining Iguazu Falls with other national attractions, such as the Jesuit Missions, Asunción, and Paraguay’s lush nature.

«We had very positive meetings with tourism agents and operators who, after our discussions, are incorporating our tourist destinations into their South American tours,» Duarte said from the Guarani stand in Taipei.

She affirmed that this strategic alliance between Paraguay and Taiwan will benefit Paraguay’s tourism sector and offer Taiwanese tourists a unique and memorable travel experience.

The Secretary of State highlighted that the blend of Paraguay’s ancient culture with Taiwan’s modernity promises to be an irresistible attraction for discerning travelers.

The 38th edition of the Fair, which began on Friday, November 1, and runs through November 4, is held at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall in Taiwan’s capital. Paraguay is the only South American representative among 111 countries and regions.

Upon returning to Paraguay, a virtual meeting will be organized between Taiwanese and Paraguayan tour operators to initiate contacts and develop the most appealing travel packages.

Showcasing the best of Paraguay

Senatur’s head emphasized that Paraguay’s presence aims to showcase the country’s best: its nature, culture, world heritage, colonial legacy, and cuisine, with special mention of vorí vorí, an internationally awarded dish.

It will feature participants from 111 countries and regions, including Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, the Czech Republic, France, Central America, and Paraguay, as well as airlines, travel agencies, hotels, and theme parks.
