Speaking post-match (via Marca), Vinicius spoke proudly of his display.
“I always say that I never play for myself, but for the team, for Brazil, for my country, and I always try to do the best things, although it is not always possible. However, some of Vinicius’ showboating antics during the match were not welcomed warmly by the Paraguayans, and their manager Daniel Garnero called on referees to do something about the Brazilian.

“He has a way of playing that is obviously not very comfortable for opponents to accept, but that’s what the referee is for. The referee has to put those limits on him.”
Real Madrid will be delighted to see Vinicius showing himself at the Copa America. Should he continue this form going forward, he will surely be the nailed-on winner of the Ballon d’Or.
