The Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023 coronation ceremony will be held at the Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts Center in San Juan, Puerto Rico on August 24, 2023. It is the 15th edition of the beauty pageant that selects Puerto Rico’s Miss Universe candidate.
On August 11, 2022, Ashley Cariño of Fajardo was crowned Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2022 at the Luis A. Ferré Performing Arts Center. Leonela Gonzalez de Jesus of Dorado and Camille Fabery Diana of Cataño were the respective first and second runners-up.
Puerto Rico was represented in Miss Universe by the winner of Miss Puerto Rico from 1952 to 1998 and Miss Puerto Rico Universe from 1999 to 2002. The inaugural Miss Universe Puerto Rico was held in 2009.
Currently, Puerto Rico has 25 Miss Universe placements including the coronations of Marisol Malaret Contreras in 1970, Deborah Fátima Carthy-Deu in 1985, Dayanara Torres in 1993, Denise Marie Quiñones August in 2001 and Zuleyka JerrÃs Rivera Mendoza in 2006. The most recent one was in the 2022 edition when Cariño finished in the Top 5.
There are 30 women competing for the Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2023 crown. I believe these five candidates will make it to the top:
