The Great Danes will play a total of 14 non-conference games that include the annual Albany Cup game at home against crosstown rival Siena at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 16, followed by three games in Puerto Rico in the San Juan Classico.
The Albany Cup game will be the first to be played at the renovated Broadview Center. The Great Danes’ home opener is Nov. 9 against SUNY Oneonta.
The schedule also includes road games against Georgetown on Nov. 30 and Syracuse on Dec. 10.
UAlbany doesn’t open the America East conference season until Jan. 4, at home against UMass Lowell.
“This year’s schedule prepares us for our quest for an America East championship,” head coach Dwayne Killings said in a press release. “Our athletes will get to compete against two of college basketball’s most storied programs in Georgetown and Syracuse, along with taking a trip to [UAlbany] President [Havidan] Rodriguez’s home community as we participate in the San Juan Classico.”
