A large rabbit-like rodent called the Patagonian mara, native to South America, was spotted at Bear Creek Lake Park in Lakewood, Colorado, on Monday, July 1.
Littleton resident Reg Cox was on a bike ride through the park with a friend when he spotted the animal blocking the path.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife officials have been tasked with tracking down and capturing the rodent after it was spotted by a number of other wildlife officers and park visitors, reports said.
As of Wednesday afternoon, the Patagonian mara had not been captured.
