2024 CFU Club Shield: All You Need to Know

MIAMI — The 2024 CFU Club Shield kicks off on Thursday, with twenty clubs from twenty countries vying for the trophy and a chance to advance to the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup.

Here is everything you need to know about the 2024 CFU Club Shield.

Who

Twelve teams from Caribbean leagues will play in a knockout format to determine the 2024 CFU Club Shield winners.

What

The 2024 CFU Club Shield will feature 20 clubs playing for a regional trophy.

The two finalists will also move on to compete in the 2024 Concacaf Caribbean Cup and potentially qualify for the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.

Clubs will face off in a single-elimination knockout format. Eight teams will play in the preliminary round to round out the Round of 16 field. Winners will advance through each round until a winner is decided in the final.

Where

The 2024 CFU Club Shield will be hosted in Willemstad, Curaçao. Two stadiums will house the matches during the tournament:

Stadion Rignaal Jean FranciscaErgilio Hato Stadium

This will be the second edition that takes place in Curaçao. The previous instance took place for the 2019 tournament.

When

The 2024 CFU Club Shield will occur from July 25 to August 4.

History

Four editions of the CFU Club Shield have been held. Reigning champions SV Robinhood of Suriname are the all-time leaders with two trophies.

The Dominican Republic, Curaçao, Puerto Rico and Saint Kitts and Nevis have hosted the tournament. Curaçao will become the first nation to host twice by hosting the 2024 edition.
