LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: In the wake of Donald Trump’s re-election victory over Kamala Harris, America Ferrera is reportedly planning to leave the United States.

According to insiders, Ferrera, 40, is relocating to the United Kingdom to seek “the best opportunities” for her children, son Sebastian, six, and daughter Lucia, four, according to Daily Mail.

America Ferrera is ‘devastated’ by Kamala Harris’ election loss

America Ferrera is said to be deeply disappointed by Donald Trump’s return to office and the implications she feels it holds for the country’s future.

“America is sick that Donald Trump is President again,” a source told the outlet.

“She is devastated that Kamala lost. She thought the country she lived in was better than that,” they added.

Is America Ferrera leaving Hollywood?

Although America Ferrera’s move to the UK is primarily for her family’s benefit, she reportedly has no intention of leaving her Hollywood career or advocacy work behind.

According to the insider, the ‘Barbie’ star plans to maintain a presence in the US to continue her acting career and fight for causes close to her heart, particularly for Latinas and women.

“She is going to continue to have a presence in the US for work purposes and to fight for Latinas and women, but she will be overseas for family and to benefit her kids’ education,” claimed the source.

Reports indicate that Ferrera recently toured a private school in Barnes, South West London, known for its celebrity children.

A source told Hello! magazine that Ferrera appeared “very happy” with the school environment.

Besides America Ferrera, several celebrities plan to leave the US

America Ferrera is not the first star to contemplate leaving the US amid the country’s shifting political and social landscape following Donald Trump’s election victory.

Minnie Driver recently returned to the UK after nearly 30 years in Los Angeles.

Driver, 54, previously expressed that Trump’s potential return to the presidency would make it challenging for her to remain in the US.

“If I lived in a red [Republican] state, no, I couldn’t [return],” she told The Times of London in July.

British actress Sophie Turner also recently relocated to the UK.

In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the 28-year-old actress cited concerns over gun violence and the overturning of Roe v Wade as factors in her decision.
