Dubai declared World’s Best MICE Destination’

Dubai was voted ‘World’s Best MICE Destination’ at the 5th annual World MICE Awards Gala Ceremony that took place on September 4, in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where the best MICE brands from across the globe were revealed.

The strength of Dubai’s MICE sector was acknowledged with Dubai World Trade Centre taking triple honours, winning ‘Middle East’s Best Convention Centre’, ‘World’s Best Professional Exhibitions Organiser’ and ‘United Arab Emirates’ Best Convention Centre’.

Museum of the Future enjoyed a fruitful evening, claiming ‘World’s Best MICE Event Venue’ and ‘Middle East's Best MICE Event Venue’.

Destination winners this year included Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam awarded ‘Asia’s Best MICE Destination’ and ‘Asia’s Best Incentive Destination’, Lima, Peru was named ‘Latin America’s Best MICE Destination’, while Saint Lucia walked away with the title ‘Caribbean’s Best Corporate Retreat Destination’.

Lisbon retained the title of ‘Europe’s Best MICE Destination’ and Los Angeles won ‘North America’s Best MICE Destination’.

In the aviation sector, Vietnam Airlines was voted ‘Asia’s Best MICE Airline’, whilst Qatar Airways took the titles ‘Middle East’s Best MICE Airline’ and ‘World’s Best MICE Airline’. Kenya Airways walked away with ‘Africa’s Best MICE Airline’.

Graham Cooke, Founder, World MICE Awards, said: ‘What a magnificent event! It has been truly memorable celebrating with our winners here in Ho Chi Minh City. World MICE Awards has had the privilege of recognising brands that are stellar examples of excellence in their field. My congratulations to each of them.’

Other winners include Venice, Italy (‘World’s Best Incentive Destination’); IMEX Frankfurt (‘World’s Best MICE Tradeshow’); Vietravel (‘World’s Best MICE Organiser’); InterContinental Hotels & Resorts (‘World’s Best MICE Hotel Brand’); and Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay (‘World’s Best New MICE Hotel’).

The results follow a year-long search for the world’s leading MICE brands. Votes were cast by MICE industry professionals and the public, with the nominee gaining the most votes in a category named as the winner. – TradeArabia News Service
