HIGHLIGHTS
Technical experts from PAHO in the areas of environmental health, damage assessment and mental health and psychosocial support started to arrive in St. Vincent and the Grenadines on 7 July 2024.
Water testing kits, purification tablets, jerrycans, generators, and essential cleaning supplies mobilized by PAHO to support health facilities also arrived on 7 July 2024 with support of the World Food Programme (WFP). The International Organization for Migration (IOM) provided a donation of solar lights and tarpaulins.
Declaration of Emergency in place from July 1st to September 30th, 2024, for St Patrick located in the Northern part of Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.
PAHO facilities assessment consultant and currently a member of CDEMA’s Rapid Needs Assessment Team (RNAT) has visited north of Grenada on July 6th and Carriacou & Petite Martinique on July 7 – 8 2024.
In St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the Ministry of Health, Wellness and the Environment has commenced dissemination of public health messages in the areas of safe hygiene practices, food safety post hurricane, mental health coping mechanisms, safe water consumption, gender-based violence and sexual and reproductive health.
