HIGHLIGHTS
Declaration of Emergency for St Patrick, Carriacou and Petite Martinique repealed as of July 9, 2024. St Patrick, Carriacou and Petite Martinique have been declared disaster zones.
Three members of Guyana’s Defence Force Advance Team are on the ground from the Engineer Battalion and is assisting with repairs to a section of the Princess Royal Smart Hospital in Carriacou. In total 8 soldiers from Guyana are on the ground assisting with buildings assessments and relief efforts. Further soldiers to arrive later this week.
Partners for Global Health have donated a large quantity of medical accessories and supplies along with other non-medical items.
Significant damage to the electrical grid in St Patrick. Crew (16) from T&T to include equipment and support from Dominica and St Lucia.
PAHO led WASH assessment started in Union Island and mainland St Vincent and the Grenadines.
PAHO expert on damage assessment arrived in St. Vincent and the Grenadines today to conduct assessments of health care facilities.
On July 10, 2024, an Emergency Medical Team from Samaritan Purse arrived in Union Island and started seeing patients.
The first MHPSS coordination meeting was held today, July 10, 2024, with participation from Grenada Ministry of Health, Ministry of Mental Health, and Ministry of Social and Community Development; St Vincent and the Grenadines Ministry of Health, Ministry of National Mobilization, UN Women, UNICEF, UNFPA, PAHO.
