JetBlue has just launched a twice-weekly service from New York to St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The new route makes JetBlue the second carrier operating flights on the route but the first American carrier to do so.
New flights to the Caribbean
Continuing its network expansion, JetBlue has added a new flight from New York John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Argyle International Airport (SVD), the main airport on the island of Saint Vincent in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. The new flight will operate twice weekly on Sundays and Wednesdays.

Though JetBlue is not the first American carrier to serve the airport, it is the first to connect New York to SVD. Caribbean Airlines, which is the flag carrier of Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica, also connects the two cities twice-weekly. JetBlue will use the Airbus A320 with 162 seats in an all-economy configuration for the new flights, which will operate on the following schedule:

Carlos James, the nation’s Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture added his excitement for the new route. James highlighted that the addition of the new airline helps its goal of increasing tourism to Saint Vincent.
Other service from the US
According to data from Cirium, an aviation analytics firm, three airlines connect the US to Saint Vincent; JetBlue, Caribbean Airlines, and American Airlines. American Airlines has the most frequent service, with six weekly flights from Miami International Airport (MIA). The flight from Miami is 1,515 miles, and American deploys the Boeing 737-800 on the route.
Starting next month, American will serve SVD from MIA daily. In November, the airline has 5,160 seats available in each direction.
Recent JetBlue news
In mid-September, JetBlue announced that it would open airport lounges starting in 2025. The airline has never done this before, but through its JetForward plan, it is increasing its premium offerings. The first lounge will open in the new Terminal 5 at JFK in 2025, and another space will open at Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) soon after.

According to the announcement, the New York lounge will span 8,000 square feet, and the Boston space will be 11,000 square feet. Marty St. George, JetBlue’s president, said,
