Saint Vincent and the Grenadines became a member of the ILO on 31 May 1995. As an ILO member state, the country has ratified 27 Conventions to date, including all 8 of the fundamental Conventions covering core labour rights and principles. These include the Forced Labour, Freedom of Association, Right to Organize, Equal Remuneration, Abolition of Forced Labour, Non-Discrimination, Minimum Age, and Worst Forms of Child Labour Conventions.
The ILO has provided technical assistance to build capacity, offer policy advice, and help advance the Decent Work Agenda in alignment with the country’s development goals. Promoting fundamental labour rights and principles remains an area of focus through this collaboration.
