St Vincent police officers to receive advanced forensic training

Upcoming Forensic Training Program for Police Officers

Committed to training our officers in state-of-the-art crime scene forensic sciences, the Royal Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF) is pleased to announce an advanced forensic training program. This initiative, developed in collaboration with the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Consulate in Canada and Mr. Peter Gendi, a Detective Sergeant with the Toronto Police Service, aims to significantly enhance our forensic capabilities.

Mr. Gendi, the main facilitator, will lead 40 of our officers through a rigorous program designed to equip them with vital forensic skills. Participants will delve into crucial aspects of crime scene investigation, including:

Establishing paths of contamination
Documenting crime scenes
Locating, recording, collecting, and preserving evidence

The training will feature a blend of lectures and practical hands-on exercises, providing a well-rounded educational experience. The program will commence on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. and conclude on Friday, July 19, 2024.

In a notable addition, the St. Vincent and the Grenadines Consulate in Canada will donate crime scene kits to the RSVGPF, enhancing our forensic toolkit and supporting our mission to uphold justice.

We warmly invite media houses to attend the opening and handover ceremony of the crime scene kits. Your coverage of this event will help highlight our ongoing efforts to advance forensic investigations and ensure public safety in our fight against crime.
