KINGSTON, Jamaica – Alyssa Stephenson scored a hat-trick as Jamaica’s Under -20 women’s team beat St Vincent and the Grenadines 7-0 in their opening Concacaf Women’s Under -20 qualifying game played at the National Stadium in Nicaragua on Thursday.
The U20 Reggae Girlz led 6-0 at half-time in their Group D encounter as hosts Nicaragua drubbed St Kitts and Nevis 8-0 in the other game played on Thursday.
Stephenson scored the opening goal in the 15th minute with Avery Johnson adding the second in the 25th minute.
Maya Raghunandan scored the third goal in the 29th minute before the Jamaicans scored three more in three minutes just before half-time.
Jaileah Cox McPherson got goal number four in the 42nd minute, Andrene Smith made it 5-0 in the 44th minute before Stephenson got her brace in time added at the end of the first half, then got her hat- trick with a goal in the 60th minute.
Jamaica will face St Kitts and Nevis in their next game, on Saturday at the same venue.
