Watch Mom and Dad Embrace An Indulgent Retreat At Sandals Saint Vincent and The Grenadines

Condé Nast Traveler

For us, travel is the catalyst for our relationship.

We met in a different state and we were long distance,

so we had to travel to see each other.

We didn’t do a babymoon, I was pregnant during the pandemic,

so we didn’t have a lot of those traditional opportunities.

[Marcus] Having this time to be able to be together

and it’s just us, it feels like surreal.

We came to Sandals St. Vincent and the Grenadines

because it’s a beautiful place to come explore.

Everyone is so friendly,

probably one of the best places we’ve ever been.

It is. It really is,

actually, yeah. Literally.

[Dolly] Arriving to Sandals by boat.

[Marcus] It was amazing,

like we had a grand entrance, it was so great.

This is so much fun, what a cool way to get there.

[Marcus] Look at the scenery.

Stunning.

I’m having such a good time already.

Already.

Traveling, I feel like it brings Dolly,

she’s already a very vibrant person,

but it brings like Dolly 2.0.

It takes her off the top.

I’m here, I have arrived, I’m Dolly, I want to have fun,

you know, and I’m like, okay.

Staying in a gorgeous beachfront villa.

It’s just so luxurious.

It’s beautiful.

This is amazing. Yeah.

It’s so relaxing to hear the ocean

just right here on your backyard.

Hiking to see these waterfalls

[Marcus] And the flowers and the plants, it was amazing.

It was stunning.

The water was so cool and refreshing.

Is this the biggest waterfall you’ve ever seen?

It is the only one.

Yeah, it’s the only one.

To come to this beautiful island

and to have this experience with my better half

has just been such a blessing.

There’s so many gorgeous reefs here,

and the Tobago Keys is definitely something worth exploring.

Going snorkeling in that crystal clear turquoise water.

[Marcus] The plant life, the animals, it was amazing.

I look forward to Marcus Jr. getting older,

he’s three years old, so I’m able to see now,

oh, I can take him here.

He’s had a passport since he was two months old.

It is such an honor and a privilege to travel,

it exposes you to cultures and people,

and it also strengthens you in so many ways.

Everything’s been about building a family together

and building a life together, and then we sit finally alone.

It felt kind of like a first date again,

like getting to know this person.

To us, and I’m really thankful to have you here

on this adventure with me.

I love you, babe.

[Waiter] Here is your [indistinct]

Wow, thank you.

[Marcus] The seafood here at Scrimshaw’s was amazing.

[Dolly] Chef’s kiss.

Taking a sunset walk on the beach,

it was just so special to share that.

It’s amazing.

We haven’t been able to do anything like this

in a really long time.

Yeah. So I know

this is very special, I’m glad I get to do it with you.

I know we miss our baby, but we’ll be home soon.

Yeah, until then, let’s enjoy it.

Until then, enjoy paradise.

[upbeat music]

What I wanna take away from this experience

is that we are still fun, and we should do this more often.

Our lives have changed so much

because of this infant that we pour all of our energy into.

We forget who we are, we forget each other.

I love you and I’ve always wanted to do

these things with you.

We started this together, you know?

Yeah. So we were able to

get back to our roots.

Yeah, For sure.

Our adventure roots.

It’s part of our tapestry of memories

and experiences together,

it was just so special to share that.

[Marcus] It’s amazing.
