SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — The First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the site location for the Springfield Missouri temple.
The location of the temple will be 2720 East Farm Road #188 in Springfield, officials said.
The temple is planned to be single story and about 29,000 square feet on the 38 acre site.

This temple was announced by Church President Russel M. Nelson in April 2023. It will be the third temple in Missouri.
At the same time as the Springfield location announcement, Church officials also shared the groundbreaking date for the Santiago West Chile Temple in South America.
Officials said the groundbreaking will take place on Aug. 17, 2024, and will be attended by the second counselor in the Church’s South America South Area Presidency, Elder Alan R. Walker.
The Santiago West Chile Temple was announced by Pres. Nelson in October 2021. It will be the fifth temple owned by the Church in Chile.
Groundbreaking also took place for the Ribeirão Preto Brazil Temple on June 22, 2024.
This groundbreaking was attended by the Church’s Brazil Area President, Elder Joni L. Koch.
It was announced in October 2022 and is one of 23 temples in Brazil that have been announced, under construction or in use.
