Why Suriname?
You’ll work with experts from both Michigan Tech and CELOS, two institutions with
long-standing commitments to conservation and natural resource research. Suriname
offers a living laboratory for addressing global challenges in biodiversity, conservation,
and sustainability.
Suriname’s tropical forests offer a unique opportunity to study:
Biodiversity Conservation: Explore one of the world’s most diverse ecosystems
Climate Change Impacts: Understand how the tropics play a key role in climate regulation
This workshop is made possible through the support from the United States Embassy in Suriname. We are grateful for their commitment to fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing
in the community and enhancing the academic linkages between U.S. and Suriname.
