The OMEGA Seamaster Diver 300M America’s Cup Edition celebrates the watchmaker’s role as Official Timekeeper at the 37th edition of the venerable race

The America’s Cup is among the world’s oldest and most thrilling sporting spectacles. The legendary sailing duel – steeped in history, innovation, and prestige – has captivated audiences since 1851, with only four nations having claimed victory in this fiercely competitive race over the years.

OMEGA’s journey with the world-famous event began in 1995, when the brand partnered with Team New Zealand, captained by renowned sailor Sir Peter Blake. That year, the Kiwis’ triumph and victory paved the way for OMEGA to serve as the Official Timekeeper in 2000, 2003, and again in 2021. This year, OMEGA returns to this pivotal role for the Louis Vuitton 37th America’s Cup that runs between August 22 and October 27 in Barcelona, continuing its tradition of precision and excellence.

“It’s a huge thrill to see the OMEGA name and logo on some of the sails of these cutting-edge boats. I’m proud to say, we’ve earned our place on the water, having served with distinction at three previous editions of the America’s Cup. We’re honoured to be tasked with measuring every microsecond of this historical boat race, and the exciting new races under the America’s Cup banner,” Raynald Aeschlimann, OMEGA’s President and CEO, commented.

And to celebrate the occasion, OMEGA has created a remarkable commemorative timepiece. Titled the Seamaster Diver 300M America’s Cup Edition, the watch blends the brand’s legendary dive watch technology with design elements inspired by the competition. Design-wise, the timepiece comes in a 42mm stainless-steel case with a blue ceramic unidirectional bezel featuring a 10-minute regatta scale, including two 5-minute pre-start sections and a START section with a regatta-inspired flag.

The white ceramic matt-finish dial also showcases the Seamaster’s signature wave pattern, laser-engraved in positive relief, which adds depth and texture to the design. The central seconds hand boasts an America’s Cup trophy counterweight as a nod to the competition’s coveted prize, coated in the same blue as the event’s Barcelona logo. What’s more, the sapphire crystal caseback also reveals the America’s Cup logo with B for Barcelona and the iconic “Auld Mug” trophy.

Underneath this lively visual composition is OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, a movement that has passed the stringent tests for precision, performance, and magnetic resistance set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS). This ensures that the watch is not only a collector’s item, but also a highly functional piece of engineering.

For the finishing touches, the timepiece comes with two strap options – a stainless-steel bracelet and a blue rubber strap – that come equipped with OMEGA’s patented Quick-Change system for versatility, and it is presented in a commemorative blue box with red stitching.

In the end, OMEGA’s Seamaster Diver 300M America’s Cup perfectly captures the spirit of the prestigious sailing event and the brand’s dedication to precision and performance. Like the elite crews competing in the race, this timepiece has been rigorously tested to meet the highest standards – in this case that of the Master Chronometer certification. And as the newest member of the beloved Seamaster Diver 300M collection, which has garnered a loyal following since its debut in 1993, this new celebratory edition presents itself as an essential addition for collectors and sailing enthusiasts.
