2024 Copa América odds, picks: Argentina favored; USA bounced early

The 16-team Copa América men’s soccer tournament is nearing the knockout stage, and you can catch the action on FOX Sports and the FOX Sports app.

The tournament features the top squads from South America and North America and will take place from June 20-July 14 at 14 venues across the United States.

For the United States men’s national team, things couldn’t have gone worse during group play. 

It won its first match vs. Bolivia, but disaster struck when the USA fell 2-1 to Panama in its second match before losing to Uruguay 1-0 on Monday.

With Monday’s loss, the USMNT was eliminated from the tournament. 

The USMNT came into the tournament at +1200 to win it all, but its odds tumbled all the way down to +2500 before facing Uruguay.

Let’s take a look at the current odds to win Copa América from DraftKings Sportsbook as of July 2.

Lionel Messi and Argentina are still the betting favorites at +130. Those odds have shortened slightly from +160 in the wake of the leg injury that Messi sustained in his team’s win against Chile last Tuesday night.

The superstar told reporters that the injury was “nothing serious,” but he missed Argentina’s match against Peru on Saturday. 

A team whose odds have moved up the board is Ecuador. On Sunday, its match against Mexico resulted in a 0-0 draw, and the team’s odds moved to +2200 from +3000.

The group stage runs through July 2, with the quarterfinals taking place July 4-6. 

The semifinals are July 9-10 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina. The third-place match is on July 13 in Charlotte, and the final will be at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on July 14.
