All eyes will be Allegiant Stadium this weekend to see Uruguay take on Brazil in Copa America quarter-finals action.
Uruguay’s path to the last eight of Copa America was rather straightforward, as his team won all three group stage matches in Group C vs Panama, Bolivia and the USMNT, all while conceding just once. Marcelo Bielsa’s side have certainly looked the part of a true contender thus far, and they’ll need to recreate their group stage performances to take down Brazil.
Brazil went into Copa America as one of the outright favorites alongside Uruguay and Argentina but haven’t really put it all together — yet. They climbed out of Group D alongside Colombia after a 1-1 draw against Nestor Lorenzo’s team, and it wouldn’t surprise anyone if the Selecao turned things up a few notches on Saturday night.

Bielsa will be without winger Maximilian ‘Maxi’ Araujo for the Brazil clash and likely the rest of the tournament should Uruguay advance. The Toluca player sustained a head injury in the first half of Uruguay’s 1-0 victory over the USA, meaning Cristian Olivera could be in line for a start vs Brazil.

Real Madrid superstar Vinicius Jr. is the only player unavailable for selection in Dorial Junior’s talented Brazil squad, and it’s not because of an injury. The 23-year-old picked up his second yellow card of the group stage in the 1-1 draw against Colombia and won’t feature but could return to the mix should Brazil advance to the semi-finals.

Uruguay vs Brazil score prediction
On paper, Brazil just about have the better individual players, even without Vinicius Jr. But so far at Copa America, Uruguay have operated better as a team with a coach like Bielsa on the touchline — which could make all the difference when two teams with top-quality players collide.
This one could very well be a toss-up, but Uruguay should just about beat out Brazil to book their place in the semi-finals.
