Hartville resident Tom Wright completed an adventurous quest in 2023, visiting all 428 national parks in less than one calendar year.
Wright, a retired Goodyear engineer, will detail his remarkable 123,000-mile journey when he presents “One Year … One Quest: A World Record Trek” during a visit to Rodman Public Library at 1 p.m. Sept. 21.
Wright traveled from the country’s four corners of Guam, Alaska, the Virgin Islands and Maine, crisscrossing the continental United States to learn and experience our country’s cultural, historical and natural heritage at its front lines. From battlefields, to seashores, to mountain parks, and historic buildings, Wright says his odyssey was exhilarating, if exhausting at times.
Those attending will hear about Thomas Edison’s laboratory complex, Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park, America’s last leper colony, and many other significant aspects of our homeland.
National park enthusiasts as well as those who have a yearning to be one are encouraged to attend Wright’s presentation.
Registration is required to attend the event at rodmanlibrary.com. For more information, call 330-821-2665, ext. 204.
