Alabama slipped all the way to No. 15 in the latest Associated Press college football media poll released Sunday, its lowest ranking since 2010.
The Crimson Tide (5-2) has lost two of its last three games, including Saturday’s 24-17 defeat to Tennessee. Alabama was ranked No. 1 following a 41-34 win over Georgia on Sept. 28, but dropped to No. 7 after losing to Vanderbilt the next week.
Alabama last was ranked this low in 2010, when it was No. 17 following a 28-27 loss to Auburn at the end of the regular season. The Crimson Tide finished 10-3 that year, the only time between 2008-23 that it ended the year with more than two losses.
On Sunday, Oregon moved up to No. 1 for the first time this season following top-ranked Texas’ loss to Georgia. The Bulldogs hopped from No. 5 to No. 2, followed by Penn State, Ohio State, Texas and Miami.
Alabama was also No. 15 in the USA Today coaches poll released earlier Sunday. The Crimson Tide is also No. 15 in the Football Writers Association of America/National Football Foundation Super 16, its lowest ranking in the 11-year history of that poll.
