This area might develop over the western and northwestern Caribbean Seas by early next week.

The National Hurricane Center said, “It has a near zero chance of formation through 48 hours and a medium (40 percent) chance in the next 7 days.”
Projected Development
Following that, this system may gradually develop, potentially forming a tropical depression as it slowly moves north or northwest over the northwestern Caribbean Sea and into the southern Gulf of Mexico by the middle of next week.

James Spann, Chief Meteorologist for ABC 33/40 and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa stated that the two major global models differ in their outcomes.
“The European keeps a weak tropical low in the Southwest Gulf of Mexico through the next ten days, but the American GFS brings the system toward the central Gulf Coast at the end of next week.”
Here Are the Conditions Needed for the System To Head Toward the Gulf Coast
[Science Time] “The greater the influence from that jet stream, the more likely the system would get drawn north toward the U.S. Gulf Coast, said The Weather Channel. “If it has less of an influence, then the system might move northwest toward Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula and the southwest Gulf, possibly stalling for a time, with its future track beyond that point uncertain.”
