Earthquake IN ALABAMA?

Yes, that’s right. If you pay attention and read the stories we report on this site, you know that we recently predicted this would happen in Alabama.

You can read that prediction and story if you click HERE.

In that investigation, we told you:

This is according to the folks at the United States Geological Survey.

In recent days, they’ve updated the “earthquake hazard” map for the USA.

Notice the green and especially the yellow area of the map over Alabama.

That puts us directly in an elevated hazard status regarding seismic activity.

The scientists at the USGS get very detailed on how these hazard maps are created.

I recently read a report that pointed out how many Californians are moving to Alabama for a variety of reasons.

I’m betting they never dreamed they would still be at risk for earthquakes.

Earthquakes in Alabama. I never thought I would do a story on that topic.

Check out some of the comments from Alabama people on what they experienced.

We escaped California 3 years ago. Been through many strong earthquakes. I laugh because now I deal with tornado threat. I feel about tornadoes the same way some of you feel about earthquakes. It’s just a matter of where you live most of your life and what you’re used to.

I live in Sheffield and I felt a little bit of vibration. I thought then that it felt like an earthquake. Could of been a train though.

Lisa Clifton

Sure did we felt it & thought someone was running on our porch

Some have been saying that we are due a “big” one. Let’s hope this is as big as it gets.
