A former Alabama Crimson Tide star was back in Tuscaloosa for the South Carolina game this past weekend, as Sylvester Croom was one of multiple former players who were back on campus.
Prior to the game as well, Croom also addressed the Crimson Tide’s team the day before the contest where the former Alabama great spoke on playing for the program and what it means to wear the program’s jersey.
Croom was a former on-field standout for the Crimson Tide where he was a three-year starter at center from 1972-74, ending his Alabama career as one of the top players at the position in program history. His career highlights included a 1974 First Team All-American, the 1973 national championship, and a 1974 team captain.
The former Alabama great was also inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame back in 2022.
