Train, say your prayers, eat your vitamins, and drink your low-carb beer. Brother!
Hulk Hogan’s “Real American Beer” is available to Alabama’s Hulk-a-maniacs, and the Hulkster himself will be in the Yellowhammer State this week to promote it. The low-carb, 4.2% alcohol by volume (ABV), light-bodied beer called, “Real American Beer,” is for sale at Alabama retailers and bars, and will receive its official promotional push this week in Baldwin County, Auburn, and Huntsville.
Hulk Hogan, the legendary professional wrestler and a surprise speaker at this year’s Republican National Convention, will make his first appearances in Fairhope and Daphne on Wednesday, including a stop off at Rouses on U.S. 98.
Marcy Nathan, creative director with Louisiana-based Rouses Market, said the Hogan post-election appearance is “a beer event, strictly focused on the launch of Hulk Hogan’s new Real American Beer, with no political affiliations.”
Hogan was originally scheduled for an Alabama rollout of the beer brand during the Alabama-Georgia football game on Sept. 29. He was supposed to host a tailgate ahead of the same football game attended by former President Donald Trump, whom Hogan has stumped for this fall. But Hogan’s appearance outside Bryant-Denny Stadium was canceled.
“Real American beer is here, and we’re bringing the party with us, brother!” Hogan said in a statement emailed in September. “This state’s got heart, and Real American Beer is here to match that energy. Our distributors and retailers have been all-in, and I’m fired up to share our beer with the incredible people of Alabama.”
The brand was released August in Wisconsin, where it’s become a top seller, according to Monday’s announcement. Alabama is the 13th state to join a nationwide rollout of the beer brand, which debuted three months ago.
The beer is described as “light-body, refreshing, and boasts a golden hue from the malt with a perfectly balanced hop flavor.” By comparison, the 4.2% ABV is about the same as other light beers such as Michelob Ultra (4.2%) and Miller Lite (4.2%).

Real American Beer borrows on the name of Hogan’s theme music in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). The song, “Real American,” was released on “The Wrestling Album” in 1985 and was performed by musician Rick Derringer. Hogan, former multi-world champion in the WWE and World Championship Wrestling, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.
“We are pumped to bring Hulk Hogan’s new Real American Beer to Alabama,” said Chris Fuchs, managing director of Budweiser Busch Distributing, which sells Anheuser-Busch products in the Alabama Gulf Coast. Its territory includes Mobile, Baldwin, Escambia, and Conecuh counties. “It’s not just a beer; it’s a celebration of flavor and fun, and it’s now available for you to enjoy.”
Hogan, 71, (born Terry Bollea), told Fox Business earlier this year that he entered the beer business for the greater good — to bring the nation together.
“I see the whole country being divided and diverse,” he told the outlet. “I got an idea for a beer that it doesn’t matter if you’re Republican or a Democrat. It doesn’t matter who you are, what you are, what your sex is, race, color, creed, what you believe in.
“This is for real Americans, and that’s what we all are.”

The next month, he spoke in support of the Trump-Vance ticket during the RNC in Milwaukee. He tore off his shirt to reveal a Trump-Vance tank top during his speech and endorsed Trump, whom he called a friend of more than 35 years. Trump, himself a WWE Hall of Famer, sponsored WrestleMania IV and WrestleMania V, with both events featuring Hogan as among the star attractions.
More recently, Hogan returned to Madison Square Garden to speak on behalf of Trump during a rally in which he emerged wearing his traditional red and yellow feather boa and waving an American flag. He told the audience that “Trump is the only man that can fix this country today,” and lashed out at critics by saying he didn’t see ‘no stinking Nazis’ after former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton compared the event to a 1939 Nazi rally at the same venue.
