Alabama football’s College Football Playoff hopes may have gone up in smoke in Norman, Oklahoma.
After a 24-3 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday, the No. 13 Crimson Tide is the top-ranked three-loss team in the US LBM Coaches Poll, but is seemingly on the outside looking in after missing a chance to play for an SEC championship.
What are Alabama’s odds of making the CFP postseason before facing Auburn on Saturday? The Crimson Tide’s chances seem slim.

Based on the latest Coaches Poll, Alabama would be the second team out of the 12-team CFP behind two-loss Clemson, and ahead of three-loss South Carolina, Ole Miss and two-loss Iowa State.
The Crimson Tide is the highest-ranked three-loss team in both the Coaches Poll and the AP Poll at No. 13. Alabama is 78 votes points clear of any other three-loss team in the AP poll.

According to ESPN’s Playoff Predictor, Alabama has a 41% chance to make the CFP with a win against Auburn.
Before the Auburn game, the Crimson Tide has a 37% chance to make the CFP according to the Playoff Predictor, and would still be the first team out behind SMU.
Per BetMGM, the Crimson Tide is 11.5-point favorites against the Tigers. Alabama has not lost a home game against Auburn since 2010.
And per BetMGM, Alabama has +4000 odds to win a national championship, tied for the ninth-best odds with SMU.
Alabama will face Auburn to finish the 2024 regular season at 2:30 p.m. CT Saturday on ABC.
