After its dominant 42-13 win at LSU Saturday night, Alabama football remains the top two-loss in the College Football Playoff hunt according to the CFP selection committee’s latest rankings.
In the second CFP rankings of the 12-team playoff, the Crimson Tide landed at No. 10, one spot ahead of the initial rankings released last week. Alabama is one of four SEC teams in the top 12 along with No. 11 Ole Miss, No. 7 Tennessee and No. 3 Texas
According to the second set of rankings, Alabama would face Indiana in the first round of the CFP in Bloomington either Dec. 20 or 21.
Alabama is No. 9 in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll and Associated Press polls before hosting Mercer at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Based on the second CFP rankings, 10th-seeded Alabama is projected to play seventh-seeded Indiana in Bloomington in the first round of the playoff either Dec. 20 or 21.
How many teams in College Football Playoff 2024?
At the end of the 2024 regular season, 12 teams will make the College Football Playoff.
The first four teams — the four highest-ranked conference champions — will earn a first-round bye. Teams ranked No. 5-8 will host teams ranked 9-12 in the first round and for a spot in the CFP quarterfinal.

The next set of CFP rankings will be released at 6 p.m. CT Nov. 19 on ESPN.
