‘America Won’t Put Up…’: Trump Blasts Zelenskyy, Signals US Aid to Ukraine May End

New Delhi: US President Donald Trump has sparked fresh concerns over the future of American aid to Ukraine, strongly hinting at a potential cutoff after criticizing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy .

Days after a tense exchange at the White House, Trump slammed Zelenskyy’s remark that a peace deal with Russia remains "very, very far away," calling it the "worst statement" he could have made.

In a fiery Truth Social post, Trump accused Zelenskyy of prolonging the war to keep US and European support intact. "America will not put up with this for much longer! This guy doesn’t want peace as long as he has America’s backing," Trump wrote, adding that even European leaders admitted they "cannot do the job without the U.S."

Zelenskyy, however, dismissed concerns over losing US aid, insisting that Ukraine’s partnership with Washington is strong enough to ensure continued support. Speaking in London, he emphasized that Western backing is crucial as Ukraine’s understrength forces struggle against Russia’s military advantage.

“I think our relationship (with the U.S.) will continue, because it’s more than an occasional relationship," Zelenskyy said late Sunday, referring to Washington’s support for the past three years of war.

“I believe that Ukraine has a strong enough partnership with the United States of America" to keep aid flowing, he said at a briefing in Ukrainian before leaving London.

Elon Musk, responded to Trump's post on Truth social, by writing on X that “Zelensky wants a forever war, a never-ending graft meat grinder. This is evil.”

Tensions between Trump and Zelenskyy have increased as the Biden-era policies of military and financial aid to Ukraine face new scrutiny. The Trump administration has signaled a shift in its approach, raising questions about how much support Ukraine can expect going forward.
