ASU head coach Kenny Dillingham speaks after 35-31 win over UCF

Arizona State football (7-2, 4-2) beat Central Florida (4-6, 2-5) in Week 11 of college football action.

Arizona State football coach Kenny Dillingham took his normal spot at the podium in the media room at Mountain America Stadium moments after his team disposed of Central Florida 35-31 Saturday night. He typically talks for 25 minutes after a home game but cut this session in half, apologizing for having to do so.

It was a big recruiting weekend and Dillingham was off to entertain visiting prospects and their families.

It appears to have worked.

The Sun Devils landed three prospects over the weekend, all wide receivers who will soon be under the tutelage of former NFL great Hines Ward.

New pledges came from Chance Ables (Plano East, Plano, Texas), Cooper Reid (.Dripping Springs, Texas) and Jordan Scott (Southwest Mississippi CC).

Ables, a 6-foot-3, 180-pounder, had committed to TCU. Fellow Texas wide receiver Jordyn Tyson and defensive back Joseph McGinnis hosted him. McGinnis’ father had coached Ables in youth football. Baylor, Arkansas, Tennessee and Oklahoma State were among his other offers.

The Sun Devils will also get some size in Scott, a Virginia native who is 6-7 and is regarded as the top junior college wide receiver in the country by 247Sports. He will have two seasons of eligibility. Florida State was among the schools most actively pursuing him.

The 2025 class now includes 20 committed players, seven of whom hail from California and five from Texas. Both are states ASU has looked to extend its footprint, with Texas particularly important because of the school’s move to the Big 12.

The class includes six offensive linemen and four wide receivers.

Reid, a 6-4, 180-pounder, had eight offers with Big 12 schools Houston and Kansas among them, along with former Pac-12 opponents Cal and Washington State. He is the second commitment for 2026, the first being quarterback Jake Fette, out of El Paso, Texas, who committed in September.
